The GOP Congress member tears Newsom for providing illegal migrants with Medi-Cal

Texas Wesley Hunt’s representative exploded California Governor Gavin Newsom for providing health benefits to millions of illegal migrants as part of the State Medi-Cal program, and called Newsom to make a complete audit of state Medicaid expansion.

In a scathing letter obtained by Fox News Digital, Hunt called Newsom to fully audit the MEDI-CAL registration of California, to publicly release the conclusions of ineligible individuals receiving benefits and to revoke the derogations that allow the State to provide illegal media migrants.

“Given the posture of Democrats at the Congress and the Public Opposition of the Governor of California Gavin Newsom to ice operations, it is logical to demand the transparency of the number of illegal immigrants in California receive services signified only for American citizens,” Hunt wrote.

“I am particularly alarmed by the use by Newsom of derogations from article 1115 under the Social Security Act, which opened the door to undocumented immigrants to access Medicaid to the detriment of American taxpayers,” added Hunt.

Article 1115 of the Social Security Act gives the power of the federal government to renounce the specific requirements of Medicaid. States can request derogations from article 1115, which allows them to comply and potentially reduce these requirements.

“Is the California Medicaid system fully in accordance with federal law?” Hunt interviewed. “How many other States led by Democrats exploit similar gaps? It is time to highlight these abuses and close them.”

Hunt also sent a copy of the letter to the secretary HHS Robert F. Kennedy and centers for the CMS administrator Dr Mehmet Oz.

“The Californians deserve transparency, responsibility and membership of the law in the administration of public health programs,” said the letter. “Politicians who divert the limited resources of legitimate beneficiaries not only violate federal standards – they destroy public confidence and threaten the sustainability of programs designed to serve our most vulnerable citizens.”
