A Tribunal of the State of Georgia ordered the district prosecutor of Fulton, Fani Willis, to carry out a new search for files related to his criminal case against President Donald Trump after having noticed that his research methods were inadequate.

The recent ordinance of a judge from the Superior Court of the County of Fulton stems from a prosecution of several months of the judicial watch of the conservative guard to obtain communications between the office of Willis and the limited committee of January 6, as well as the former special lawyer Jack Smith the team.

The ordinance is the last setback of the case for Willis after a judge ordered his office in January to pay around $ 22,000 in legal costs to judicial surveillance, concluding that she had not fully responded to the initial requests of the open dog files.

Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, told Fox News Digital that his organization had widened Willis communications because he thought that the district prosecutor was poorly coordinated with the federal government to invoice Trump during the 2020 elections.

“The trial concerns any collusion and collaboration with the Congress and the Ministry of Justice, Jack Smith, and we have not seen the documents, but they show that there was because their very existence shows that they were talking to them,” said Fitton.

Asked about why Willis communicating with the Committee of January 6 or Smith would be out of line, Fitton said that the simple existence of interactions showed that Willis’ work lacked independence and that his accusation act against Trump and 18 others was a “political operation” rather than a “honest and good process”.

“Look, if Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff manage this investigation, you can be sure that it is not credible,” said Fitton in reference to the former president of the Democratic Chamber and member of the Committee of January 6 led by the Democrats, respectively.

The judge said that his order was an answer to an affidavit of Willis who had not responded to the searches of the aircraft belonging to the former special prosecutor of Fulton, Nathan Wade, and to chief investigator Michael Hill, who was an integral part of the investigation of Trump’s alleged elections in Georgia.

The judge raised questions about the question of whether their files had been properly sought, saying that he had noticed “omissions” and that communications had perhaps been overlooked. Willis must respond within 14 days with a more complete report of his research methods, the prescription said.

In March 2025, the court ordered Willis to produce 212 pages of files, which Willis’s office later said that he had found that after looking for them several times and after initially denied their existence. The new command orders Willis to clarify the search protocols used for Hill and Wade recordings.

Willis charged Trump and 18 co-accused in August 2023 of racketeering and other violations during the 2020 elections, but the case was considerably reduced due to the advocacy and rejected accusations.

In the end, the Georgia Court of Appeal disqualified Willis of the case, finding its private romantic relationship with Wade presented a conflict of interest. The case has been interrupted indefinitely since the decision.
