On Friday, a former former assistant from the Biden administration invoked the fifth amendment when he was deposed in camera with the chamber’s surveillance committee on Friday, Fox News Digital said.

Annie Tomasini becomes the third ex-democratic officer to Stonewall investigators to examine whether signs of the alleged mental decline of former president Joe Biden were covered by her inner circle.

The former deputy chief of staff of the White House was seen in and leaving the committee room in less than an hour, saying nothing to journalists.

A familiar source with discussions told Fox News Digital that she had invoked the fifth amendment several times, which probably led to the hasty meeting. Tomasini herself did not respond when Fox News Digital asked if she had done so.

The source said that Tomasini pleaded the fifth when asked if Biden, a family member or anyone in the White House asked him to lie at any time.

Fox News Digital contacted Tomasini lawyers but did not immediately answer.

Commer confirmed that it had invoked the law against self-incrimination in a statement after the deposition, although it was not present in person for the meeting led by the staff.
