The first lady Melania Trump used the stage of the United Nations General Assembly (Unga) on Tuesday to offer a warning and a call to action: children must be protected as upcoming technological races.

Trump has unveiled his new initiative “promoting the future together” in his remarks, a global coalition of nations dedicated to the progress of children’s well-being in the digital age by education, innovation and technology.

By opening in a moment of reflection, the First Lady urged leaders to see the imagination of childhood not as trivial, but as a rehearsal for innovation later in life.

“As a child, we all played marbles, stole paper and run with the string in hand, watching our kite take off,” she said. “The big spirits have transformed the balls into micropuces, paper planes in drones and kite into satellites.”
