The Fateh of Minnesota at 35 follows the way to Mamdani in the mayor’s offer

Could the senator from the state of Minnesota, Omar Fateh, come to the mayor of Minneapolis, to become the next Zohran Mamdani?

Mamdani, the 33 -year -old Ugandan state assembly in New York, amazed the country’s political world last month from behind to convincingly win the town hall appointment in the most populous city in the country.

With his victory over the former New York governor Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates, Mamdani took a big step towards the first Muslim mayor and first millennium in New York.

Like Mamdani, Fateh is a Muslim Democratic Socialist and, at 35, another member of generation Y.

Mamdani, while he presents himself for the mayor, pushes a program that includes the elimination of prices to set up the vast bus system from New York, making Cuny (University of New York) rents “without tuition fees”, freezing rents on municipal housing, offering free childcare “for children up to 5 years and the implementation of ULMING germing button.

Fateh, the son of immigrant parents of Somalia who, five years ago, became the first Somali-American elected to the Minnesota Senate, promises an elected mayor to increase the minimum wage of the city, increase the supply of affordable housing and fight what he calls police violence.

The Republicans were relentless to target Mamdani and his far left proposals. They tried several times to make him the face of the Democratic Party while trying to anchor him with vulnerable democrats to be re -elected in the middle of next year.

While not grasping the kind of media frenzy that surrounds Mamdani, Fateh is launched to be targeted by the Republicans and the Conservatives.

Charlie Kirk – The conservative host and Maga -World Rockstar which directs the influential Turning Point USA Political Youth Organization – recently targeted Fateh on its Muslim identity.

On Saturday, the Democratic Labor Party of Democratic Farmers of Minneapolis (name of the Democratic Party in Minnesota) meets to decide to make an approval in the town hall race. The initiates say that the party probably supports Fateh or will remain neutral and does not approve of any candidate.

There are other candidates supported by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) who draw attention to municipal races across the country.

Among them, Denzel McCampbell of Michigan, who presents himself for the municipal council of Detroit in the district 7. McCampbell has a work history on issues such as voting rights.

In Ithaca, New York, student organizer Hannah Shvets won a primary to represent district 5 of the city.

Shvets, which pushes a platform focused on affordable housing, climate action, public security reform and government’s transparency, is supported by the ITHACA chapter of the DSA.
