“The DSA has regular meetings with him, not to mention his team. His politician is my friend. I have been working with her campaign director for over a year. You know? I have friends who are his staff,” he said.

Goulden said that the DSA has worked particularly in close collaboration with Mamdani on its “Trans Rights” platform to use the city’s resources to give free transgender treatments to people across the country.

“We wrote the platform with him. The team was so happy to work with us on this subject,” he said. “What we explicitly wanted to do is to use New York power to provide free care to say sexes – and I say free in case insurance companies Decide to start – free assertions, not just for New York residents, but across the country.”

Goulden suggested that New York can use its resources not only to provide transgender treatments to New Yorkers, but also to people from other cities and states, even when such treatments are illegal.
