The Governor of Texas Abbott deploys the National Guard to protect federal goods

Texas governor Greg Abbott announced on X on Monday that the units of the solo state elite guard are now “unfold” after receiving a request to help protect federal goods.
In the brief article, Abbott wrote: “The National Elite Guard of Texas. Always ready. Deploy now.”
The short but dominant message underlines the governor’s confidence in the ability and the will of the state to act to defend the nation.
Texas officials say the deployment is coordinated with the White House plans to strengthen security in several cities that have seen protest peaks targeting federal facilities, including Chicago and Portland.

President Donald Trump called on additional support for cooperative states, saying that troops “would protect workers and federal property climbing threats”.
Democratic governors, however, repel. The governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, qualified the move “an invasion”, and the officials of Oregon seek to block deployments through judicial orders.
“It started with federal agents. He will soon understand the deployment of federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and this will now imply sending military troops from another state,” said Pritzker.

Texas governor Greg Abbott defended Trump’s decision, writing on X that he had “fully authorized the president to call 400 members of the Texas National Guard to ensure the security of federal officials”.
He added that federal and state leaders must “be fully applying the protection of federal employees or deviating and let the Texas goalkeeper do so”, while praising the “training, skills and expertise” of the goalkeeper.
