Friday, a federal judge ordered the Secretary of State Marco RubioWho is also an interim archivist, to collect all signal messages belonging to the senior officials of Trump who could be at risk of deletion and return these messages to the Ministry of Justice for a more in -depth examination.

Judge James Boasberg said his hands were attached beyond that and that he could do nothing for signal messages that had already been deleted.

Boasberg’s order came in response to a surveillance group that continued five of President Donald Trump’s cabinet, including Rubio, after the Atlantic published a story revealing their cat signaling to discuss imminent plans to carry out air strikes against the Houthis in Yemen.

Boasberg, who has become one of Trump’s main judicial violies because of his decisions in an unrelated immigration case, said the legal file shows that the five Trump officials “have so far neglected to fulfill their functions” under the Federal files on files.

The judge said that American Oversight, the left guard dog who brought the trial, argued that the office officials used Signal, an encrypted messaging application, to communicate for work and that they allowed messages to relax automatically, which probably makes them permanent.

But in the context of the Federal Records Act, Boasberg said he had limited options to combat the allegations of American Oversight in addition to demanding that Rubio asks the Attorney General Bondi Ensure compliance with the law for existing signal messages which risked deleting.

Chioma Chukwu, executive director of American Oversight, said in a statement that the group’s trial was finished for the moment but that it was “fully prepared” to continue if it noted that the Trump administration did not comply with Boabsberg’s order.

Hegseth and signal application

“He should never have required judicial intervention to oblige the acting archivist and other agency leaders to exercise their basic legal tasks, and even less to send the case to the Attorney General to apply,” said Chukwu.

The explosive signal incident involved Rubio, the defense secretary Pete Hegseth, CIA director John Ratcliffe, the national director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and others communicating on their attack plans in a discussion group after the then national security advisor Mike Waltz apparently added an Atlantic journalist to the discussion.

The Trump administration denied the reprehensible acts and insisted that communication was not “classified”. Bondi dodged a question at a press conference on the Investigation into the incident and rather doubled on the assertions of the White House that the cat was simply “sensitive” and not “classified”.

The Pentagon Inspector General launched an investigation into the incident in April in response to a bipartite request from the Senate Armed Services Committee.
