The Chamber’s supervisory committee abandoned its assignment for the former director of the FBI, James Comey, after having said that he had no relevant knowledge for the investigation of the panel on Jeffrey Epstein, The hill reported, citing a letter sent by Comey to the Committee.
In the letter of October 1 sent to the president of the James Comer Committee, R-Ky, Comey said that he had no “knowledge” or “relevant information for the committee’s investigation” on the late pedophile.
Comey was to sit for a deposition on Tuesday before the committee which examines Epstein contacts and potential government ties dating from the 1990s.

“I offer this letter instead of a deposition that would consume unproductive time and the rare resources of the committee,” wrote Comey.
Comey was a general sub -procurer from 2003 to 2005 and later director of the FBI from 2013 to 2017 – two periods now examined by the Républicains de la Chambre in search of responses on the federal links of Epstein.
“At no time during my service at the Ministry of Justice or the FBI, I remember any information or conversation linked to Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell,” wrote Comey.
Because the letter was subject to the sentence of law – making any false declaration a potential federal crime – Comer accepted Comey’s response and withdrew the assignment.
Fox News Digital contacted the surveillance committee for a copy of Comey’s letter and confirmation of the withdrawal of the assignment.
The late pedophile Epstein committed suicide in 2019 pending prosecution against federal accusations on sex trafficking, although the questions continue to swirl on the circumstances surrounding his death.
Comer has published a wave of quotes to appear in August for the investigation by Jeffrey Epstein – notably in Comey and former President Bill Clinton and the former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

Comer also assigned the Ministry of Justice for files related to the case of Epstein.
Other orders to appear include the former director of the FBI, Robert Mueller, and the former attorney general Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, William Barr, Jeff Sessions and Alberto Gonzales.
Holder and Attorney General Merrick Garland sent similar letters to Comey, denying all Epstein knowledge and inviting Comment to withdraw these assignments also, according to the hill.
It is not known if the sessions for the Clinton will continue.

The committee’s work is involved in the midst of a growing partisan tension on how to manage the Epstein investigation, and the basis of the GOP is fractured on the current treatment of the case by the administration.
The main Republicans, including President Donald Trump and President Mike Johnson, R-La., Supports by continuing the monitoring investigation as the fastest way to discover new information. Comer has already published thousands of pages of documents assigned to the Ministry of Justice and the succession of Epstein.
Critics, however, accuse the GOP of protecting certain figures by selectively freeing recordings. Several legislators rather push the legislation to declare all government files linked to Epstein and Maxwell – a move approved by several Epstein victims.
