The urgency of the bird flu is officially completed, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention American (CDC).

The agency’s emergency response to the H5N1 bird flu, which was activated on April 4, 2024, was “deactivated” on July 2, the agency told Reuters, citing a drop in animal infections and an absence of human cases since February.

From July 7, the CDC will combine its updates to the flu influenza with its routine flu updates, according to a press release on its website.

The data on the number of people monitored and tested for the bird flu will now be reported on a monthly basis.
