The Democrats of California, led by the governor. Gavin NewsomVoted to adopt a set of bills to allow voters to decide to overthrow the cards of the pre -existing congress and the state independent redistribution commission, and inaugurate a new one with a more partisan slope.

The vote is part of an effort from Newsom and the Democrats to cancel the new card of the Texas Congress with one of their own.

The draft drafts were adopted by the California Legislative Assembly along the parties of the Parties line in the State Assembly and the Senate. The bills allow California voters to decide during a special election on November 4, to allow the State to suspend its bipartite distribution commission and to replace the current districts with a card created by the campaign committee of the Democrat Congress.

The bill was quickly signed by Newsom on Thursday. In a post celebrating the Legislative Assembly which adopted the bills, Newsom said: “It is official. California’s special elections are underway for November 4.”

“The inhabitants of California will be able to vote for a Congress map. Direct democracy which gives us a chance to fight to stop the rigging of the elections of Donald Trump,” wrote Newsom, adding: “It’s time to fight fire with fire”.

Speaking Thursday at a press conference, Newsom accused Trump of being “one of the most unpopular presidents in American history” and said “that he will recognize that he will lose the election, the congress will return into the hands of the Democratic Party next November”.

Abbott won a great victory in the redistribution of the battle while the blockade of the Democrats of Texas collapses

Newsom’s push for a special session and a new card was a call and a response to President Donald Trump, Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Republicans, who designed their own fresh card which exceeded the Texas House on Wednesday which gives the GOP Five new republican districts.

The new cards should transform five republican districts into democratic districts, as part of an effort to cancel the modifications made to Texas. The two states engage in a wider battle to take control of the house driven by Trump, who wants to school the trend of the swing pendulus during the out -of -cycle elections and maintain control of the lower room.

“It’s about taking over our country,” Newsom told journalists during a press call on Wednesday. “It is the Democratic Party which now strikes with force and very intentionally.”

Thursday’s legislative session comes from California’s GOP attempt to stop the process by accusing the constitution of 30 days to examine the legislation, which was killed by the California Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Before the opening of the Legislative Assembly, the Republicans of California met outside the State House to slam the moving of the Democrats to change the cards.

“The governor says they fight fire with fire,” said Republican chief James Gallagher. “Well, the problem when you fight the fire with the fire is that you burn everything. And that’s what we have right now.”

During Thursday’s session, California legislators examined three invoices, one to pay for the special session, a containing the new card and another taking a constitutional amendment to consider by voters in November.

Before the floor of the room, the president of the assembly Robert Rivas, D-Calif., Accused Trump of not believing in democracy, of being “terrified of losing, and he will do everything it takes to hang on to power”.

“We will not let our political system be diverted by authoritarianism, and today, we give each Californian the power to say ‘` `non’ ‘, to say’ not ” to the seizure of the power of Donald Trump and to` `yes ” to our people, to our state and to our democracy,” he said.

The map would probably affect five Republican California districts represented by representatives Doug Lamalfa, David Valadao, Darrell Issa, Ken Calvert and Kevin Kiley. Earlier this month, Kiley presented legislation to arrest the national redistribution push until the 2030 census.

Like the Texas card, it is not guaranteed that the Democrats will win the seats, but Newsom and its supermajority in the State Legislative Assembly incumbent on them to give them a better blow.

Trump, Abbott vs. Newsom: Mad Dash to redo the Congress cards in California, Texas

But Trump’s desire to maintain the Gop Trifecta in Washington has also prompted other states to consider a redistribution effort.

“Great victory for the great state of Texas !!! everything has passed, on our way to five other seats in the congress and saving your rights, your freedoms and your country, itself,” he said on his social media platform, Truth Social. “Texas never lets us fall. Florida, Indiana and others seek to do the same.”

While Trump and his allies continue to provoke for more changes in state cards, Newsom has found an ally in his own push: former President Barack Obama.

He argued that Newsom adopted a “responsible approach”, but noted that the redistribution in mid-December, in particular of the hyperpartisan nature in which Newsom and the Republicans were engaged, was not his preference.

“I had to fight with my preference, which would be that we do not have political gerrymandering,” Obama said on an event in Martha’s Vineyard on Tuesday. “But what I also know is that if we do not respond effectively, then the governments of the States of the White House and the Republican across the country, they will not stop.”
