The philanthropic and billionaire heiress Liz Simons, who donated $ 250,000 to the New Yorkers for lower costs, a CAP supporting the Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani, supervises a foundation that would be the source of the push to bring “mathematics” to public schools.
Critics said to New York Post that the mathematics program aimed to transform children into socialist revolutionaries.
While a typical mathematical problem puts a child with a child to answer a quantitative question, neutral mathematics include social problems in issues and do not focus alone on figures. The point of sale noted that if the approach had been adopted in states like California, others, including Florida, rejected it.

The Heising-Simons Foundation, which Simons co-founded with her husband, Mark Heising, has given $ 1.7 million since 2023 to the Racial Justice in Early Mathematics (RJEM) project at the Erikson Institute in Chicago, according to the post.
Rjem was created in December 2019 and led by Dr. Jennifer McCray, from the Erikson Institute, and Dr Danny Bernard Martin, from the University of Illinois Chicago. A press release in January 2023 by the Erikson Institute affirms that the project “focuses on the resolution of systemic racial injustice problems in mathematical education of young learners”.

The declaration describes by describing Rjem’s main objectives as identifying the problems of racial injustice in the first mathematics that trigger “difficult (and often uncomfortable) conversations” on racism and offer educators the possibility of developing practices “which promote racial justice”.
On its website, the Heising-Simons Foundation claims that its mission is “to advance sustainable solutions in climate and clean energy, to allow revolutionary research in science, to improve the education of our youngest learners and to support human rights for all”.

Mamdani, a self -proclaimed democratic socialist, amazed observers when he obtained the Democratic appointment for the mayor of New York in June.
Despite his distant positions, Mamdani obtained the support of representative Jerry Nadler, DN.Y. Another democrat of the establishment, Senator Chuck Schumer, Dn.y., for his part, was more prudent towards Mamdani.

Mamdani was also supported by representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Dn.y., and he organized an event on Saturday in Brooklyn with Senator Bernie Sanders, I-VT.
Fox News Digital contacted the Heising-Simons Foundation to comment but did not immediately receive an answer.
