The southern Dakota representative, Dusty Johnson, the only member of the State Chamber, announced a race for the governor.
Johnson is president of the Caucus on rue de la Maison du Gop and member of the Caucus de Solvers Bipartisan Problem Solvers. He has been used for the congress since 2019, following a position as vice-president of an engineering and consulting company based in southern Dakota. Before his role as executive, Johnson also worked as a commissioner for public services in southern Dakota from 2005 to 2011, during which he was appointed chief of staff to former Governor Dennis Daugaard.
The announcement, considered by local media as a “formality” after Johnson was already presented, came on Monday during a campaign event and was twinned with a video The representative shared on social networks.

“I was such an honor to work for you at the Congress. We wrapped our sleeves and made things happen in the right direction, reducing billions of billions of unnecessary expenses, standing with President Trump to secure our border and finally become hard in China,” said Johnson.
“These are important fights to build a better country for our children, but their future does not start in a distant place. It starts here at home, in the southern Dakota. This is why we have to hit the gas and give them a clear path to a brilliant future.”

After the announcement, criticisms began to appear online that Johnson did not sufficiently support President Donald Trump, and says he is “never exploiting” is “desperate lies”.
“Here are the facts,” Johnson told Fox News Digital. “Donald Trump made me fall to Mar-A-Lago. I went to the Super Bowl with President Trump. I donated $ 10,000 to his re-election campaign years ago. He approved in my race in 2020. I was his president of the State campaign for his re-elect.”
Johnson added that he is someone who has “a long -standing story and multi -year to be a partner” with Trump.
