The American ambassador asks a probe on the death of the Palestinians-Americans in the West Bank

The American ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, called on Tuesday the Israeli authorities to “aggressively investigate” the murder of Sayfollah Musallet, a 20 -year -old Palestinian American who would have been beaten on Friday by a gang of extremist settlers in the village of Cisjordan de Sinjil.

“We asked Israel to investigate aggressively in the murder of Saif Mussallet, an American citizen who visited his family in Sinjil when he was beaten in death in the West Bank,” wrote Huckabee on X. “There must be a responsibility for this criminal and terrorist act. SAIF was only 20 years old.”

According to the family, Musallet visited the West Bank of Tampa, Florida, to reconnect with parents and visit family agricultural land.

“This is a nightmare and an unimaginable injustice to which no family should have to face,” the family said in a statement. “We demand that the US State Department put an immediate investigation and hold the Israeli settlers who killed Saif responsible for their crimes.”

Israeli military officials said the confrontation started when the Palestinians threw rocks on settlers, slightly injuring two. TSAhal forces were deployed in the region and used non -lethal crowd control methods, the army said.

So far, no Israeli suspect has been arrested as part of the killings. Friday evening, two Israeli minors were detained Friday evening for suspicion of public disorders were released for a house arrest. A reserve soldier interviewed by military police during the shooting during the incident was also released.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said Musallet had been fatally beaten during an attack by settlers in the region. Another man, Mohammed Al-Shalabi, 23, was shot in the chest and also killed during the same incident.

Israeli police sources have told the Haaretz newspaper that the absence of autopsy and the fact that the bodies were not transferred to the Israeli authorities can complicate the investigation.

A military court also released Abdullah Hamida, a Palestinian resident arrested during the settlers’ raid, criticizing police. During the hearing, the police representative admitted that he was not aware that the Palestinians had been killed and wrongly said that the only injured were settlers.

The State Department recognized the conscience of the incident, but refused additional comments, reports Reuters, citing “respect for the privacy of the family and relatives”.
