The alleged conspirators of attack in Hamas appear before the German court on Thursday

The German authorities arrested three alleged members of Hamas suspected of having plotted attacks on Israeli or Jewish institutions in Germany, officials at the Associated Press told.

Two of the suspects arrested on Wednesday are German citizens. The office of the federal prosecutor described the third as being born in Lebanon.

They were only appointed Bed Al G., Wael FM and Ahmad I., in accordance with German privacy rules. The trio should appear in court on Thursday.

“During today’s arrests, various weapons, including an AK-47 assault rifle and several pistols, as well as a considerable amount of ammunition, were found,” the federal prosecutors said in a statement obtained by Reuters.

A security source told Reuters that the three were in their thirties or forty.

Germany is one of the strongest allies in Israel due to the heritage of the Holocaust and security is tight in synagogues and other Jewish institutions. He did not join France, Great Britain and several other countries last month to challenge the wishes of Israel and recognize the Palestinian state.

Hamas has not yet responded to a 20 -point plan for Gaza by American president Donald Trump, who includes the disarmament of the militant group.

In February, four members of Hamas suspected of having plotted attacks on Jewish institutions in Europe were tried in Berlin in what prosecutors described as the first case against activists from the Palestinian group in Germany.
