2025 has been a fairly tumultuous year so far, but fortunately, romantic writers are in good shape. The spices landscape is hot this year, with new established authors publishing a delicious variety of hot stories. With summer on its way, it’s the perfect time to heat your shelves with these spicy romance books!
Love presents itself in all forms and colors, and something that I particularly appreciate in the books of romance today, it is that writers create various representations that celebrate this. On the one hand, there are more queer romances that make a way through the presses than before (although The torn bodiceannual Report on the state of racial diversity in the publishing industry indicatesThey are always definitively the minority, so I hope that publishers continue to develop their offers in this area). Likewise, it becomes less rare than the books of romance center of bipococate characters. As a mixed breed person myself, I am also delighted to see the occasional character of the mixed race or the interracial relationship occupying the front of the stage in romantic books.
Why all these discourses on diversity and love? I guess he just has the impression that 2025 has included a lot of clearly loving speeches, and that makes me think about the ways that romantic books are, in their hearts, celebrations of love. It does not matter whether the protagonists are strange or rights, black or white, small town or big city – they all look (and deserving) love. The books on this list present single parents and serial hearts, mechanisms and academics, owners of small businesses and popular personalities on the Internet. And spices. Lots of spices! So go catch a spicy romance book and go into the world of hot meetings and happily.

Flirting lessons by Jasmine Guillory
One of my favorite romantic authors is Jasmine Guillory’s first foray into queer romance. The main characters Avery and Taylor are almost polar opposites, which makes them a fun reading. Avery is inexperienced, calm and full of doubts. She wants to try to go out with women, but can’t get out of her head enough to make a link. Meanwhile, Taylor’s friend Erica (who is part of a secondary intrigue in this book which is really good alone) bets that she will not last summer without sleeping with anyone, and Taylor is determined to win this bet. What better distraction than helping Avery learning to flirt? There is a lot of pleasure and games in this one, because Taylor organizes a variety of experiences of practice of flirting so that Avery can practice her collection skills, which makes their own story of inevitable love all the more entertaining.

The strawberry patch pancake house By Laurie Gilmore
The fourth book of the comfortable series Drema Harbor de Laurie Gilmore (with book 5, Gingerbread bakerydue in September), The strawberry patch pancake house was just as delicious as its title suggests. Archer is a single father. He is also a super-world class leader who came to Dream Harbor to meet Olive, the girl he did not know he had. He may know his way in a kitchen, but Archer has no idea how to connect with olive in the aftermath of his mother’s sudden death. Iris hiring as a living nanny seems to be an excellent solution … except for the fact that they are both desperately attracted to each other. But even the presence of a young child cannot prevent their feeling (and his desire) from growing up. I particularly appreciate the role that couples of the previous books in the series play as Gilmore continues to grow Dream Harbor.

Swoon temple by Jo Segura
The incredible cover of this book says almost everything. Yes, this is a reference from Indiana Jones (if you had a doubt, the previous book of Segura was called Raiders of the lost heart). And that makes sense, since Dr. Miriam Jacobs is herself an aspiring Badass archaeologist. Of course, she is a little klutzy and tends to put her foot in her mouth, but when it is announced unexpectedly like the codirige of an expedition to find the lost city of the moon at the bottom of the Amazon, this is the opportunity it was waiting for. Except that no one seems to believe in her. And his co-leader is a total jolt. And the journalist accompanying the expedition is so hot that Miriam drives with all his body every time he speaks to him. There are tons of sexual tension, action and adventure, and literally swinging vines in it. The HEA is also super satisfactory because there are so many things wrapped in it.

The relational mechanic by Karmen Lee
This sapphic romance in small town is the second in the series of Peach flowers by Karmen Lee (with the third book, Secret Crush Book Clubdue in August). Jessica’s car, like her life, has broken down. She tries to hide the scandal resulting from her relationship with two of her actress’s co-stars. Half black and half Korean, she is never really integrated, but when she meets Vini, the owner of the PEACH Blossom car shop, who is starting to change. Both cannot keep their hands from each other (things seriously spicy here) and sail in the holidays, the family and other challenges when they try to understand what they are for each other.

The bodyguard affair by Amy Lea (December 2, 2025)
I love a good secret romance, and it has a racy premise: as a personal assistant of the Canadian Prime Minister, Andi Zeigler cannot afford a public scandal. But when she writes a romantic novel called Prime Minister and meSpeculations on her and her boss abound. What to do a girl to do when she inadvertently throws doubt about the character of her high -level boss? Why, false meeting, of course! And we all know that a good dating plot is not left for a long time. Fortunately, the bodyguard of the PM is an Andi hottie has passed a little. This one should not be released before December, so put it on your list of wishes and maybe your bottom will be full of a little spices this holiday season.

Wild and Wrangled By lyla sage
This is the fourth book of the Ranch Western Romance series by Lyla Sage Blue Ranch. I love the fact that this one presents Cam, a single mother who hangs out on the sidelines of the first three books. Cam is a buttoned character, a woman with a work that works hard to offer a good life to her daughter. So when his future groom cancels marriage, he throws his whole world into chaos. Enter Dusty, her high school darling. He takes her away from the bathroom of the bar in which she hides and takes care of her needs with the patience and restraint that Cam needs in order to find a new plan for herself and her child. They are both incredibly sweet characters, and their love story takes place with such tenderness (and impressive spices).

The princess and the pi by Nikki Payne (September 16, 2025)
Due to September, this book is a fun reading and folded to the genre! I have always loved the mysteries, and this romance revolves around a murder, a cult and a vile technical brother. Fiona Addai made a name for himself as an online detective, but her real life ends up occupying the front of the stage when she tries to look at her brother’s death and ends up with big troubles. When she teams up with an established private investigator (a character from the previous book of Payne Pride and protest– A nice touch for return readers), things warm up quickly, both in terms of investigation and their attraction towards each other.

The count meets his match By all Alexander
This T4T Regency romance is a slow burn. Among the books on this list, it is probably the lowest on the spice scale (that’s there, just at the very end), but I had to cheat and include it because it is so well written and the characters are delicious. Christopher Eden is taken in a difficult situation: he is a trans man who must find a woman as soon as he wants to keep his succession inherited. Enter James Harding, Bombasse (Uh, I mean, Valet) extraordinary. While the two sail in the expectations of the era of the era, their own relationship takes place in a way which, although perhaps questionable on the historical precision scale, is magnificent. I am generally not a historical Romanesque reader, but this one is a winner.
