A Texas judge ruled on Friday against Beto O’Rourke and his non -profit organization on Friday in a case brought by the Attorney General of the State Ken Paxton, who accused them of illegally raising funds to support the Democratic legislators fleeing the State to block the legislation on the redistribution of the GOP.

The district judge of the county of Tarrant, Megan Fahey, made a temporary prohibition prescription Friday evening against O’Rourke, a former member of the Congress and candidate for the Democratic presidential election, and his group, propelled by people, on “practices of collection of illegal funds” linked to efforts to support the Democrats of Texas who fled the State – including the Funding, the Housing daily fines.

“The defendants have and will continue to engage in practices for collecting illegal funds and the use of political funds in a manner that violates directly or raised the Democratic legislators of Texas (the law),” wrote Fahey in her decision on Friday evening. “Consumers have and continue to undergo irreparable damage thanks to these illegal acts because they make political contributions that are used to finance personal expenses and violate state law.”

The order of Fahey prohibits O’Rourke or his group from continuing to collect funds or provide financial support to the Funite Democrats in Texas. The decision only occurred a few hours after the Paxton office filed a petition for a temporary ban on O’Rourke.

Fahey is a republican and she was appointed by the Governor of GOP Texas Gregg Abbott in 2019.

In response to the decision, O’Rourke published a statement arguing that Paxton tries to close his non -profit organization “because our volunteers are fighting for voting rights and free elections”, which he called “the kind of work that threatens the take that Paxton, Trump and Abbott have in power in Texas”.

“They want to make examples of those who fight so that others do not do it,” added O’Rourke. “Now, Paxton has deposited a ban prescription to try to withdraw from the fight. He wants to object and prevent me from directing this organization. He wants to prevent us from fighting Trump’s attempt from stealing the five seats of the congress he needs to hang on to power.

“Cry Plus, Lib,” said Paxton in response to the O’Rourke Declaration. “You have lost in court because you violate the law and deceive the Texans. We will absolutely make an example of law breezers.”
