Syrian American killed in a jihadist attack against the Druze community

The Syrian jihadists would have executed a 35 -year -old Syrian American – a member of the minority Druze religious community – last week while the government violently attacked members of the country’s Druze community.
The State Department confirmed on Tuesday in Fox News Digital that an American, who was identified as Hosam Saraya of Oklahoma, was killed in Syria. A spokesperson for the State Department said: “On many occasions, Secretary Rubio stressed the importance of prioritizing the security and security of American citizens. We can confirm the death of an American citizen in the Sweida region in Syria last week. We offer condolences to the family on their loss and brought them consular assistance.”
Senator James Lankford, R-Okla, Written on X, “Hosam was Oklahoman and member of the Druze community who was tragically executed alongside other family members in Syria. We pray for his family, friends and the whole community when they cry this insane loss.”

Senator Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla, wrote on X that an “American citizen of Oklahoma” was “brutally executed alongside family members in Syria”, adding: “I work with partners in the region to find out more, and we are in touch with @Govstitt on this devastating situation. Our prayers are with the family right now. “”
President Ahmed Al-Sharaa would have taken the side of the Bedouin tribes influenced by the jihadists who executed residents of Druze in southern Syria, declaring having carried out “heroic actions”.
Al-Sharaa, which used a war name “Abu Mohammed al-Golani”, was on the most sought after the FBI list from 2013 to 2024 for its role in terrorism. Critics accuse Al -Sharaa of seeking to violently repress the populations of ethnic and religious minorities in difficulty in Syria – Christians, Druze and Kruds.
Last week, Israel launched military strikes against the jihadist forces en route to the southern city of Sweida, where there is a large population of Druze, to stop the massacre. Israel also attacked the Syrian Defense Siege in Damascus to stop the bloodshed in Sweida.

A spokesperson for Israeli Defense Forces told Fox News Digital during a zoom call that she “learned her lesson” of the Hamas of the Jewish state in 2023 and has two goals in southern Syria: border security and rescue of the Syrian Druze.
Most of the Druze world community lives in Syria. There are also large populations of Druze in Israel and Lebanon.

The member of the Congress of the GOP of Arizona, Abe Hamadeh, who is Druze, told Fox News Digital: “Barbaric violence against the Druzes community in Syria must end immediately. Under the daring direction of President Donald J. Trump, Secretary Rubio and the ambassador bar, the United States took daring steps.
Hamadeh, whose mother is from Sweida, added: “It is now time for the Syrian government to transform their words into real actions, if they want to maintain legitimacy: restore order, protect all its citizens and demonstrate a real commitment in terms of long -term peace and stability. Is not the way to follow.”

The member of the Arizona Congress said: “My staff and I are involved in inter -standing efforts to determine what is happening and does not happen on the ground in Syria in the middle of the fog of this conflict. We will not rest before all American remains and the victims are returned. Justice and responsibility must be signified. We pray for victims and for peace.”
The reign of Al-Sharaa since he overthrew the pro-Iranian regime of Bashar al-Assad in December experienced massacres of Alawites, Christian and Druze. Critics argue that Al-Sharaa refuses to cord in the jihadist forces that seek to impose a Taliban style rule on Syria.

After the forces of Al-Sharaa executed Syrian Christians in March, the Reverend Johnnie Moore, the president of the Congress of Christian leaders, told Fox News Digital: “It is a warning that the Syrian government is not ready for great listening hours if he cannot protect a handful of vulnerable Christians who had absolutely nothing to do with this violence, except to be his victims,”
The number of deaths involving clashes between the Sunni Bedouin tribes and the Druze fighters, which includes government forces and Israel, exceeded 1000, according to the United Kingdom Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
Washington has helped implement a fragile ceasefire. SOHR noted that “achieving an agreement including the cease-fire and sponsored by Washington coincided with the threats of maintaining Syria on the list of sponsors of state terrorism, in case the terms of the agreement were violated”.
