The South Korean government has concluded an agreement with the United States to obtain the release of hundreds of migrant workers detained in a Hyundai automobile factory in Georgia.

Internal security surveys said that 475 people who were in the country illegally, mainly from South Korea, were arrested as part of the operation at the Construction Battery Factory. Hyundai owns the factory, but said that none of the workers were directly employed by the company.

President Lee Jae Myung’s office said the country will send a charter plane to bring workers back to South Korea in the coming days.

The South Korea Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a statement last week to express “concern and regret” during the RAID.

HSI Georgia, Steven Schrank, said that some of the detained workers had illegally crossed the American border, while others had entered the country legally but had expired visas or had renounced the visa that prohibited them from working.

HSI said that some of the workers arrested were employed by subcontractors on the construction site, which has since been interrupted. Fox News Digital reported that ice and other law enforcement agencies were part of the operation.
