South border numbers are considerably lower under the Trump administration

EXCLUSIVE: The southern border numbers continue to be significantly lower compared to the previous administration with record numbers, according to new data on customs and the protection of American border obtained by Fox News.

Between June 1 and 22, there were 5,414 apprehensions on the border, the busiest sector being El Paso. During the same period, there were 986 known Gotaways. The two numbers are the lowest ever recorded.

In May, there were just under 9,000 apprehensions of illegal immigrants on the border, against around 118,000 the previous year under the Biden administration by CBP.

The number began to drop slightly in June from last year with 83,532 migrant meetings, then around 56,000 in July 2024, but the figures are still much higher than what is seen under the current administration.

The decrease in last year is the result of an order signed by former President Joe Biden to regulate passages in the United States, even if migrant meetings were extremely high for three years earlier.

When President Donald Trump took office in January, the first 11 days saw only 9,086 games, then the figures have been almost similar or lower since then.

In 2023, there were points where about 10,000 migrants crossed the United States illegally daily, because many people were able to request asylum via the CBP One application.

Gotaway figures are now on average 46 per day, against the average of 1,833 per day at a point under Biden in 2023.

The CBP One application was quickly transformed into a CBP Home application by the Trump administration, and it is now used for “non-criminal” people who seek to self-conform. THE Department of Internal Security offers an allowance of $ 1,000 and free trips from the United States for those who choose to leave alone.

Meanwhile, expulsion efforts were underway by the administration, with demonstrations and even riots taking place in Los Angeles and all over the country this month. On the messaging front, Dhs and ice mainly praised the arrests of people with criminal charges and convictions.

In terms of long -term efforts, the administration praises borders and immigration in the Senate reconciliation bill, in particular the hiring of more federal authorities and funding for more beds in the detention centers.
