JD VANCE defends Trump’s sombrero in the midst of racism claims

Vice-president JD Vance rejected indignation against President Donald Trump sharing a meme video representing the leader of the Hakeem Jeffries minority in a sombrero, saying that he was confused by the affirmations that he was “racist”.
“Oh, I think it’s funny,” said Vance on Wednesday when asked if the publication of memes sombrero was “useful” while trying to reach a government funding agreement with the Democrats. “The president’s joke and we have a good time. You can negotiate in good faith while pushing a little pleasure to some of the absurdities of the positions of the Democrats and even, you know, by pushing a little pleasure to the absurdity of the Democrats themselves.”

Vance joined the White House press briefing on Wednesday to contact the government closed which came into force earlier that morning after Democratic and Republican legislators did not conclude a funding bill. The administration blamed the Democrats for the closure, arguing that party members are trying to pass a measure that would provide health care to illegal immigrants, which Democratic legislators have denied.

Vance’s response follows Trump publishing a Monday video on Monday To truth social who represented Jeffries wearing a mustache and a sombrero while Mariachi Music played in the background. The head of the Senate minority, Chuck Schumer, was also represented in the video, with a voice generated by the AI indicating “no one loves democrats” due to the order of “our awakened program, trans”.
The video included blasphemies and democrats laughed at using illegal immigrants as new potential voters.

Jeffries, as well as other democrats and media, described the video as “racist”.

“Mr. President, the next time you have something to say about me, do not run away from a racist and false AI video,” Jeffries told journalists on Tuesday, according to Politico. “When I’m back in the oval office, say it to my face.”
Fox News Digital contacted Jeffries’ office to comment and has not yet received an answer.
Vance also challenged the media that made a point to clarify the viewers that the video was “generated by AI”, pointing to the comic and sombrero mustache in the video which indicated that it was a joke.
“Hakeem Jeffries said he was a racist, and I know he said that,” said Vance. “And honestly, I don’t even know what it means. Like, it is … a Mexican-American who is offended having a mememe sombrero?”

“And I saw one of the main television stations put the same and then say, it is generated by the AI. And it also had the curved animated mustache.
Asked about another shared AI video that Trump shared and then removed on Truth Social in September – which represented “doctors’ beds” with a futuristic appearance that can heal diseases – the white house press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said Trump likes to share memes online.

“He likes to share memes. He likes to share videos, he likes to republish things he also sees publishing on social networks. And I think he is quite refreshing that we have a president who is so open and honest directly,” she said.
