Several generations of families of Texas politicians attended the Mystic Camp

More than two dozen children have died of sudden flooding devastating by gripping Texas Hill Country, which houses popular summer camps for young people, including Camp Mystic, a summer program for Christian girls who maintain deep roots with Texas politicians and presidential families who go back to decades.
The sudden floods flooded the county of Kerr, Texas, and around the Center-Hill in Texas at the start of the July 4 holidays. Warnings concerning the floods were issued on Thursday, but the devastation struck the early Friday morning area, taking residents by surprise.
The county of Kerr, Texas, is home to a handful of summer camps for young people, including Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp of girls created in 1926 by the football and basketball coach of the University of Texas “Doc” Stewart.
At least 27 campers and advisers were confirmed dead, and the camp was devastated by the waters that flooded the Guadalupe river and torn the surrounding communities, according to the website of the Mystic Camp.

“Today, I visited Camp Mystic. The camp describes itself as the one who focuses on the promotion of spiritual growth and the realization of the best campers during their stays, according to its website.
“Camp Mystic is a private Christian summer camp for girls,” said camp on his website. “Established in 1926, Mystic is nestled among the cypresses, the living oak and the Pacans in the country of the Texas hills of the center-west on the banks of the magnificent Guadalupe river. Mystic is located near the Geographical Center of Texas, 18 miles northwest of Kerrville. Mystic staff strives to provide healthy young girls.

Camp Mystic has long and deep roots with Texas politicians and their families, including the former first lady Laura Bush, who worked there as an advisor when he attended the South Methodist University in his youth, and the former president Lyndon B. Johnson, who sent her daughters to the camp.

The former first girl continued that families flock to the summer camps of the Hill Country despite the warm weather of Texas because “love that is there”.

The camp also pulled several generations of the family of former president Lyndon B. Johnson. A digital copy of the May 1975 edition of Texas Monthly pointed out that the two “daughters of Johnson were also mystical campers”, while the Texas Tribune recently reported that the granddaughters and the hindquarters of the 36th president also attended the camp.

The camp, during its almost 100 years of operation, saw several political families in Texas participate, including former governments. The longtime director and co -owner of the camp, Dick Eastland, was one of those who died tragically in the floods while trying to save the campers. Eastland bought camp in 1974, Fox Digital.
