But this report was not the final product. Now he launches the investigation he described as “exasperating” because of the roadblocks and the obstacles he faced along the way. And last night, he approved a summons to obtain more information from the FBI and the Ministry of Justice.
“I would like our report to be bipartite, but everyone seems to have evolved here and not particularly interested in an investigation. I am,” said Johnson. “Whether I have the other officers involved or not, I go ahead, that’s why I approved a summons.”

Johnson accused the FBI and the Doj of “not sharing with us” and said that he needed documentation to move forward with his investigation and that he “did not understand”.
“We continue to be in stone, and I’m not happy with it,” he said.

The previous preliminary report was the product of a joint investigation with the Senate Committee for Internal Security and Government Affairs and the Permanent Sub-Comeding of Investigations, which at the time were led by the Democrats of the Senate when they controlled the majority.
This report revealed that failures in “planning, communications, security and allocation of American secret service resources for the butler rally of July 13, 2024 were predictable, avoidable and directly linked to the events leading to the assassination attempt that day”.

Johnson reiterated that he hoped that the final report, and his feeling of assignment, would be a bipartite effort.
“I hope they all join. But again, otherwise … I have a unilateral assignment power, so I will put this assignment,” he said. “But if the other officers join, great.”
