EXCLUSIVE – Senator Josh Hawley, R-MO., Heat up the special council Jack Smith, accusing him of “spying on political opponents” during the January 6 investigation and calling alleged surveillance “an abuse of power beyond Watergate”.

The FBI, working under the supervision of Smith, has obtained call newspapers and metadata linked to nearly a dozen GOP senators, including Hawley, as part of his investigation into Capitol Riot, reported Fox News. The follow -up involved call recordings and horodatages, not the content of conversations.

Hawley told Fox News Digital on Monday that the newly published documents suggest that Biden’s administration “hopes the president’s political opponents”, which he described as “deep violation of the separation of powers”.

He said that the activity corresponds to what he considers to be part of a broader scheme of exceeding executives under Biden, citing alleged surveillance of Catholic churches, parents during the school board meetings and social media censorship.

“The truth comes out. Stasi de Biden who claimed to save” our sacred democracy “in fact worked overtime to destroy it – everything for power. They spied on Catholic churches, prosecuted for pro -Vies, deployed the FBI against parents during the meetings of the School Board – and tried to exploit the phones of their political enemies. Including mine”, wrote on X.

“It is an abuse of power beyond Watergate, beyond J. Edgar Hoover, who strikes directly to the Constitution, the separation of powers and the first amendment,” he continued. “We need a complete investigation into all those involved: who knew it, who ordered it, and who approved it. Anyone who and all those who have violated the law must be prosecuted. The way to save the country is to restore the rule of law.”

Hawley said he had been targeted because he is a conservative republican who opposed the vocal Biden and “his anarchy”.

“This is obviously completely supporter,” said the senator, adding that he was proud to have called what he described as the abuse of power by the FBI. He also said that alleged driving was “dangerous, very, very dangerous” for the country.

Hawley said that the scope of alleged surveillance was even greater than Watergate.

“It is worse than Watergate,” he said, arguing that Biden “activated the whole government to continue anyone who dared to oppose him”. He accused the administration of using agencies such as the FBI, the DOJ and the DHS to silence criticism and monitor the private people.

Hawley called for a complete investigation by the Ministry of Justice and said that the appointment of a special lawyer “who would give him all his attention” would be appropriate.

“We must have total responsibility, total transparency and complete accounts of all those involved there-all those who knew it, signed this and participated, and I simply cannot imagine that it is legal … and whoever committed legal violations must be prosecuted,” he said.

Hawley has developed controversy as a test of constitutional limits, saying that the government must be held responsible when power is used to pursue political opponents instead of maintaining the rule of law.
