Senate republicans confirm 48 Trump candidates using new nuclear rules

The Senate Republicans struck dozens of candidates from President Donald Trump on Thursday in their first bending of the new confirmation rules of the Senate.

The legislators voted according to the party’s parties to confirm 48 of Trump’s candidates, many of whom were for the under-security or the posts of assistant secretary in a variety of agencies of the federal government and ambassadors.

The Senate Republicans went “nuclear” last week to change after a last minute agreement with the Democrats.

The change inaugurated by “the nuclear option” allows legislators to confirm an unlimited number of candidates in lots, also known as En Bloc, with a simple majority vote in the upper room. However, the process takes time, since legislators must jump through procedural hoops and allow 30 hours of debate.

“Why was only one candidate was confirmed by vocal vote or by unanimous consent? We know why,” said the whip of the majority of the Senate John Barrasso, R-Wyo., According to the Senate. “It is a democratic obstruction.”

“The country has never seen anything like it,” he continued. “The Senate Democrats freeze the Senate soil, freeze the federal government and freeze the progress of our nation. This harms America’s security. It isolates the agenda for which the Americans voted.”

Among this batch of candidates, there was Kimberly Guilfoyle, that Trump exploited the American ambassador to Greece, and Callista Gingrich, who was chosen to be the American ambassador to Switzerland.

The Republicans have argued that change would benefit both parties now and in the future and considered change as an option of last resort to unravel the blockade of the Democrats of the Senate of Trump choices.

As a general rule, nominees at the level of the subcabins, in particular those who have bipartisan support outside the committee, are accelerated by the Senate by unanimous consent or by a vocal vote – two procedural movements accelerated in the upper chamber. The only Trump’s candidates who easily crossed the Chamber was Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was confirmed in January during an almost unanimous vote.
