The NFL star was placed in police custody

Los Angeles Loaders, Denzel Perryman, remained behind bars on Saturday after being placed in police custody, authorities announced.
Los Angeles sheriff deputies said several cannons had been discovered during a traffic stop on Friday.

“On August 1, 2025, at 9:30 p.m., the deputies of the South Los Angeles station made a traffic stop on the Los Angeles Chargers football player, Denzel Perryman, 32, for violations of the vehicle code,” said the Sheriff department in a statement.
“During the traffic stop, the deputies discovered five firearms in Mr. Perryman’s vehicle, two of which were assault rifles.”

The NFL veteran was cooperative with the authorities when stopping traffic, according to an incident report.
Perryman was reserved for crime of charges shortly after 10 pm, according to records. He is detained without deposit at the South Los Angeles sheriff, confirmed the Sheriff department.

Ron Butler, Perryman’s agent, said Pro Bowl defender was in contact with legal experts.
“Denzel and our team always collect information and work in close collaboration with a legal advisor” Butler told ESPN. “Although I cannot talk about details at the moment, we are convinced that things will be treated in an appropriate manner thanks to the legal process.”

Perryman is expected to appear in the Inglewood court on Tuesday, the Sheriff department said.
“We are aware of a case involving Denzel and collects information,” the team said in a statement.

Perryman played for the charge from 2017 to 20 and returned to the team in 2024. Perryman also experienced relays with the Texans of Houston and the Raiders of Las Vegas.
