A Senate Democrat accused his colleagues from the Empire State of being “without thorn” for not having approved the candidate for the Democrat Town Hall of New York, Zohran Mamdani.
Senator Chris Van Hollen, D-MD., Did not name a name but has always made its doors against the Democrats in New York not to support Mamdani, whose politics brand has shaken the Democratic Party since its main victory earlier this year.
And the New Yorkers who did not throw their support behind Mamdani are the most powerful Democrats in Congress: the head of the Senate minority, Chuck Schumer, Dn.y., and the minority head of the Hakeem Jeffries room, Dn.y.

“Many Democratic members of the Senate and the Chamber representing New York stayed on the sidelines,” said Van Hollen at an Iowa event on Saturday. “This kind of policy without spin is what people have enough. They have to get behind him and get behind him now.”
Neither Schumer nor Jeffries, both from Brooklyn, approved Mamdani, despite himself having met a handful of times in recent weeks in the middle of the growing pressure of the Democrats of the Congress to throw their weight behind him.
Van Hollen also continued the Democratic Party as a whole, arguing: “We have become a party that too often cuts its sails”.
“Too cautious, too without rudder,” he said. “Too attached to washed messages, rich in experts and dried to the donor. What comes out of washing is white and dried.”

A Jeffries spokesperson retaliated on Van Hollen in a declaration of The New York Times.
“The leader Hakeem Jeffries will have more to say about the general elections long before November 4,” said Jeffries spokesperson Justin Chermol. “Meanwhile, confused New Yorkers ask themselves the question: Chris Van Who?”
Schumer met him last week and told journalists that it had gone well.
“We had a good meeting,” said Schumer. “We know each other well and we will continue to speak.”
Since the remarks of Van Hollen, the New York Democrat, Kathy Hochul New York Times opinion play Sunday.
She noted that although they did not agree on many articles, they found common ground on accessibility and security problems in the city. And in Mamdani, Hochul said that she had seen the hope of mayor who “did not go to a thumb to President Trump”.

“Mr. Mamdani and I do not see my eye, and I do not expect us to do it,” she said. “I will always reserve the right to disagree honestly and to discuss with passion. But I also believe that New York State and New York City are in our best when we hold on to those who try to tear us away.”
