Schiff exploded Trump for deployed the National Guard, federalizing DC police

Schiff’s comments coincide with the start of a trial concerning Trump deployment of the California National Guard troops in Los Angeles to respond to the immigration riots in June, bypassing the governor of California Gavin Newsom to send the troops.

“First of all, Donald Trump used the Marines and the National Guard to support his mass expulsion program in Los Angeles”. Schiff posted on Monday. “Now he uses tactics similar to DC like a Tinpot dictator. Do not look away. Do not stay silent. If you do, don’t be surprised if it’s your city afterwards.”

Tinpot is a term generally used to describe figures that have bad leadership skills.

Trump announced on Monday that he would deploy around 800 soldiers from the National Guard to respond to crime in the national capital. He also announced that he would federalize the Washington Metropolitan Police Service to respond to crime, placing it under the authority of the Attorney General Pam Bondi.

“I am deploying the National Guard to help restore the law, order and public security in Washington, DC,” Trump told journalists at a press conference on Monday. “And they will be allowed to do their job properly.”

National Guard troops are reserve forces that are exploited to deal with states and federal operations, including natural disasters. While most are generally supervised by the governments of the States, the federal government oversees the National Guard of the District of Columbia.

The deployment by Trump of the National Guard comes after promising that Washington would be “released” from “crime, wild, dirt and foam” in an article on social social on Monday morning. He said: “The days of death ruthlessly or innocent people are over!”
