Russia rejects foreign troops to Ukraine while world leaders meet Zelenskyy

Russia again rejected the idea that foreign troops are stationed in Ukraine. This occurs when European leaders met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and made a joint call with President Donald Trump.
Thursday, the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova Reuters reported.
“Russia will not discuss a foreign intervention in Ukraine in any form or format which is fundamentally unacceptable and safe,” Zakharova told journalists, according to Reuters.

The declaration responded to the remarks of the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on the plans to send European troops to Ukraine.
Russia is not the only one to reject the remarks of Von Der Leyen, because Germany has also expressed its doubt about the proposal. The German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, told journalists that there were “things you do not discuss before you sit down at the negotiating table with many parties who have their say”.

While the call took place Thursday morning, the White House did not publish any public statement on what was discussed or if there has been any progress made to end the war. However, Zelenskyy seemed to think that it went well when he thanked Trump in an article on the meeting on X.
“I would particularly like to thank President Trump for all his efforts to put an end to this war and for America to support Ukraine on his part” ” Zelenskyy wrote.
The Ukrainian president said that at the meeting, which included an American special envoy Steve Witkoff, the world leaders discussed how each country would be ready to help ensure kyiv’s security.

“We share the same point of view that Russia does everything possible to lead to the negotiation process and prolong the war. Support for Ukraine must be increased and pressure on Russia must be intensified,” said Zelenskyy.
World leaders have ended the Russian-Ukraine war, which has been raging for more than three years since the invasion of Moscow in February 2022.
Fox News Digital contacted the White House to ask for comments on the call but did not immediately hear.
