Revenge thrillers full of satisfactory revenge

One of the most important parts of a story, any story, is to bring the public to root the main character. Or, at least, to understand them. Their motivation, their objective and why they make the decisions they make, all contribute to the public who felt invested in their trip, wherever it could make them. This is why, sometimes, we root the villain more than the “hero” because we understand why they do what they do, even if we do not agree with their actions.
Nothing benefits more than thrillers of revenge! What is easier to understand than a injured character looking for revenge? What could be more exciting than a character displaying the revenge for which they fought so desperately? Who is more sympathetic than, say, John Wick, looking for a revenge for the murder of the dog that his deceased gave him, or, a classic Liam Neeson quoted as he fights to save his kidnapped daughter? We have all been injured before, we fantasized about the little revenge that we would get in retaliation, and the thrillers of revenge raise this to an extreme. There is nothing more satisfactory than the bad guys who get their due.
