The Republicans and Democrats exchange beards on Wednesday morning while the federal government settles in the first day of a closure.

“The Democrats have made this choice, the Democrats forced this crisis, and the Democrats alone will respond to the Americans working now by paying the price of their reckless program,” the president of the republican study committee, August Pfluger, R-Texas, said in Fox News Digital on Tuesday evening.

The government entered a closure just after midnight Wednesday after the Senate did not advance a short -term federal financing bill called a continuous resolution (CR) a few hours earlier. The measure did not reach the 60 votes necessary to overcome an obstacle from the Senate – down 55 to 45 years – with only three Democrats joining the GOP Tuesday evening.

Some federal services will temporarily cease to operate, and certain government employees – including military and airport controllers – must continue to walk in a delayed salary.

The majority of American voters warn DEMS should not support the government’s closure on this key question: survey

Veteran services and military operations will continue to be funded and social security checks will continue to be sent to Americans, among other essential services.

But some federal workers could lose their jobs, as indicated by a service note sent to federal agencies earlier this month by the director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Russ Vought.

The Republicans now blame Democrats for having plunged the government into a closure, while Democrats accuse the Republicans of refusing to negotiate what is traditionally a bipartite exercise.

“Virginia is home to tens of thousands of federal workers, entrepreneurs and service members who keep our country on the move. Tonight, they are forced to wonder when they will get their next pay check – not because they have not done their job, but because the legislators of the Congress failed to do theirs, declared the representative Eugene Vindman, D -Vind. The DC suburbs, said in a Tuesday declaration.

“Trump and his rubber stamp republicans have chosen to injure Virginia’s families instead of working through the aisle. He spent the time they come to the table so that we can find real solutions, reopen the government and deliver for the people we serve.”

Meanwhile, representative Michael Rulli, R-Ohio, whose coal district includes Youngstown, told Fox News Digital: “The current government closure is the culmination of months of the same tired and disturbing tactics used by the left against the American people.”

“In November 2024, President Trump and the Republicans received an overwhelming mandate to govern. However, each time we try to implement the changes required by voters, we are faced with fierce resistance – even on simple measures like a clean CR, that the Congress approved 13 times before,” said Rulli.

Representative Nick Langworthy, Rn.y., wrote on X: “Done: Schumer led to hold the government for a liberal payment of 1.5 Billion of dollars.”

His message came with reference to the CR proposal of the Democrats calling for a repeal of health expenditure reductions made in the “Big and Beautiful Bill” of the GOP. Their plan would also have restored the financing of NPR and PBS which was reduced by the Trump administration earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Democrats also demanded that CRs include Obamacare subsidies, improved during the Covid-19 pandemic, but had to expire this year, in exchange for their votes.

“Thousands of federal employees who work hard in the 7th district of the Maryland Congress woke up this morning to find out if they were contributed or forced to work without salary,” wrote the representative Kweisi Mfume, D-MD.

Representative Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., Said in the same way in a statement: “Democrats have been clear for months: we will not support a budget that inflicts a health care crisis on the American people in order to finance Trump’s continuous destruction of our democracy and mass deportations.”

The representative of the first quarter Brandon Gill, R-Texas, replied that “the Democrats have created this crisis”.

“Democrats in the Senate have just closed the government.

The president of the Mike Johnson room, R-La., And the leader of the minority of the Hakeem Jeffries room, Dn.y., also blamed each other on the parties of each other, the two who should bring their cases to the Americans on Wednesday.

The Senate should also vote again on CR on Wednesday.
