Republican proposes public list designating illegal immigrants facing deportation

FIRST ON FOX: A new House GOP bill would establish a registry of illegal immigrants subject to deportation orders in the United States.
Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., is spearheading legislation to establish a public registry of people slated to be removed from the country, with their full name, photo and last known state of residence.

“By the end of 2024, more than 1 million illegal aliens, including Ian Roberts, had final orders of deportation against them but were circulating freely within the United States,” Biggs told Fox News Digital, referring to the former Des Moines Public Schools superintendent who was recently arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). after being accused of falsifying citizenship documents.
Biggs said: “Instead of enforcing our immigration laws and deporting illegal aliens who were afforded due process in our immigration courts, the Biden administration has worked to make it as easy as possible for illegal aliens, regardless of their criminal history, to enter and remain in our country.

He argued that making final eviction decisions publicly available “will only increase public safety and ensure that incidents like this never happen again.”
The database would be created and managed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), according to the legislative text obtained by Fox News Digital.

This comes as DHS works to track down and deport migrants who arrived in the United States illegally during the Biden administration and before.
More than 10 million unauthorized border crossings were detected under the previous administration, according to a majority of the House Homeland Security Committee.
