Green, the Tennessee Republican, said last month that he would leave Congress for the private sector once the room again voted on “Big and Beautiful Bill” by President Donald Trump, in a press release obtained by Fox News Digital.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from Congress. Recently, I was offered an opportunity in the private sector which was too exciting to pass. Consequently, I informed today the president and the House of Representatives that I will resign from the Congress as soon as the Chamber vote once again on the package of reconciliation,” said Green.

He called the 7th district of the Tennessee of the Congress “the honor of a life”.
“They asked me to deliver the values and the conservative principles that we are all dear, and I did my best to do so. Besides, we have spent historical tax reductions, worked with President Trump to secure the border and defend innocent life. I am extremely proud of my work as president of the professional security staff, and I would like to thank my staff, District, as well as the professional staff of this committee, “said Green.
Green recognized in his declaration that he had previously prepared to retire during the last congress, but reversed the course.
“Although I had planned to retire at the end of the previous congress, I stayed to make sure that the measures and priorities of the border security of President Trump reach Congress,” he said.

Green has been an army veteran who has been used in the congress since 2019.
As chairman of the House’s internal security committee, he supervised the dismissal of the Republicans of the former Biden Administration DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Even with the departure of Green from Congress, he is sure to assume that his seat of the house will remain in republican hands.
The district voted for Trump of more than 20 percentage points against the former vice-president Kamala Harris last year.
Fox News Digital was the first to report last week that Green approved Matt Van Epps to replace him in the American Room of Representatives.

Green called Van Epps, a decorated army veteran and the former commissioner of the Department of General Services of Tennessee (DGS), a “real warrior”.
“Matt van Epps has my complete and total approval,” said Green in a statement with Fox News Digital. Green revealed that he had served in the same special army operations unit as Van Epps, which he described as “a brotherhood which cannot be reproduced anywhere else”.
In a shared press release first with Fox News Digital, Van Epps said that it was “deeply honored” to receive Green’s approval and “ready to put people from the 7th district first”.
“The member of the Green Congress has left very large shoes to fill, but I am ready to intervene and continue his work in the name of Tennesseans,” said Van Epps.
