The classification member of the Judicial Committee of the Chamber wrote a letter to the Ministry of Justice requiring information on the recent transfer of prison of Ghislaine Maxwell and meeting a senior official of the Trump administration.
Representative Jamie Raskin, D -MD., Said that the recent transfer of Maxwell – a condemned sexual trafficker and the former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein and an alleged accomplice – of a maximum security prison in Tallahassee, Florida, gives “the strong appearance” that the Trump administration “tries to cover the whole extent of the relationship between President Trump and Mr. Epstein.
In the letter to the Attorney General Pam Bondi and the director of the Prisons Office William K. Marshall III, Raskin said that Maxwell’s new home in a federal minimum security prison camp in Bryan, Texas, offers “greater freedom to detainees”. He argued that such “extraordinary transfer” would generally be “of the limits categorically prohibited to sex offenders”.

“These actions raise substantial concerns that the administration could now try to falsify a crucial witness, to hide the relationship of President Trump with the condemned sex offenders and to amuse Ms. Maxwell to provide a false or deceptive testimony to protect the president,” wrote Raskin, according to a copy of the letter obtained by Fox News Digital. “The transfer also seems to violate the policies of the MJ and the prison office (BOP).”
The letter requested a cache of documents related to the reason why Maxwell was transferred from the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Tallahassee to the Federal Prison Campe (FPC) Bryan.
Raskin is also looking for a transcription and the recording of the recent Maxwell meeting with the deputy prosecutor Todd Blanche at Tallahassee prison.
“These meetings were very unusual for several reasons. Mr. Blanche, who up to ten months ago, was a lawyer for Donald Trump’s personal criminal defense, met Ms. Maxwell and her lawyer without line prosecutors.

In his letter to Bondi and Marshall, Raskin also argued that condemned sex offenders would generally be excluded from federal prison camps, which would offer “access to the community”, and any transfer would require “several levels of examination which would normally take months.” He said that any approval of a transfer “generally requires new facts or evidence” and even, “an inmate should then join a waiting list of several months for an opening in a camp”.
“Ms. Maxwell, however, seems to have short-circuiting the entire examination process and jumped the queue, receiving a place in the federal prison camp (FPC) Bryan in a few days,” Raskin wrote. “Neither doj nor bop provided something as a satisfactory explanation to provide Ms. Maxwell this only favorable treatment.”

The letter – also signed by all the Democrats of the Chamber’s Judicial Committee – is looking for a list of any officials of the administration who “was aware, was involved or approved” of the transfer. Raskin also required information concerning “any possible advantage of Ms. Maxwell, including transfers, changes in containment conditions, stands, switching or changes in DoJ positions in current issues”.

Raskin acknowledged that Maxwell had recently been assigned to appear by the Chamber’s supervisory committee to testify. In Bondi and Marshall, the member of the Congress said “it cannot be a question that your actions were used to send a clear message to Ms. Maxwell in the head of any testimony to the Congress and the American public: this administration can punish or reward it as it deems appropriate for its own ends.”
