The head of the American teachers’ federation (AFT), Randi Weingarten, is expected to organize a virtual event on Tuesday by promoting his new book on educators who fight against “fascist regimes” – an appearance that comes less than a week after the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk, which would have been motivated by the anti -fascist ideology.

The teachers’ leader of the American teachers federation condemned “political violence” following the assassination.

“Let’s be clear: violence never goes,” she posted on X Wednesday. “Political violence never agrees. The life of armed violence is lives. My prayers are with Charlie Kirk, his family and all those who were present in this horrible event.”

“There is no excuse for political violence against anyone for his convictions,” she posted for X Sunday. “We must condemn him unequivocally. And I hope that this tragedy causes a serious conversation on the role that social media plays in the spread of fear, hatred and disinformation.”

Weingarten’s book broke against “fascists” follows his press with a full journey during the 2024 electoral cycle against a second Trump administration, warning democratic votes were “best defense against tyranny and fascism”.
