Radio preservative John Reid wins the Lieutenant-Governor of Virginia

Richmond, Virginie – Richmond conservative radio host John Reid will be the republican candidate for the Lieutenant-Governor of Virginia, after being opposed to the primary elections on Tuesday on a state scale.

Reid was the only man who remained after the Fairfax County supervisor, Pat Herrity – the rare holder of the Washington Metro Bureau, Washington DC, rich in votes, but strongly democratic – withdrew from the competition last month by citing health reasons.

Reid was a well-known republican voice in the center of Virginia, previously sitting the Henrico County Republican Committee, as a delegate to the RNC in 2024 and as a member of the first member of former senator George Allen, R-VA.

Reid will join the current lieutenant of governor WinSome Earle-Sears on the republican ticket this fall, while the prosecutor General Jason Miyares also joins them by presenting himself to the re-election.

Reid focused his campaign on a message of unity to “develop” the GOP in a state where the political fracture is digitally close, but marked insofar as the Democrats are often the privileged line during elections on the scale of the State.

The first point of his campaign message on his website was focused on education against “indoctrination”.

“He focuses on the guarantee that our education system gives critical knowledge and skills of thinking, and not political prejudices, by preparing students for success in a diversified world instead of creating radical activists”, reads a line on his website.

On the burning subject of immigration, Reid’s campaign said that the candidate was “dedicated to the application of immigration laws, without authorizing localities to ignore them”.

His campaign also opposed to “erase” the American heritage while retaining monuments.

Reid’s campaign met a short -term controversy When the former expert – the first openly gay man to direct the state in Virginia – was subjected to obscene photos of himself published online. Reid denied any link with the Tumblr account in question, but the controversy has led some Republicans to briefly call for abandonment.

Reid, Earle-Sears and several best Republicans in Virginia converged Tuesday evening on Richmond to celebrate the main winners at all levels, including in the lower chamber of the General Assembly.

Democrats are currently holding a two-seater majority in the Chamber of Delegates of 51-49 Virginia, where the Republicans hope to make the narrow gains necessary to take control in November.

The Republicans are confronted with a difficult road in this regard and defend several seats, in particular along the Richmond-Petersburg Turnpike corridor which was won by former president Joe Biden, the former vice-president Kamala Harris-or both.

One of these members is del. Kim Taylor, R-Petersburg, who overthrew a “Biden + 12” district in 2023 in what is the most democratic municipality of Commonwealth per capita.
