Race of the Governor of New Jersey: Sherrill before Ciattarelli but many undecided

A new survey shows that the Democrat Mikie Sherrill leading six points ahead of Republican Jack Ciattarelli in the race of the Governor of New Jersey.
The elections to the governor of November are among those considered to be a bell tower for the mid-term elections of 2026. The Republicans of the Congress are currently clinging to a thin majority as a razor almost eight months after the second term of President Donald Trump.
With only three months before the general elections, Sherrill has 48% support and Ciattarelli has 42% support, according to a Stimsight research survey for Insidernj published on Monday.
Only 32% of respondents said they were sure to vote for Sherrill and 31% said they were defined about Ciattarelli, suggesting that there is room for the movement on each side.

The survey – conducted from July 18 to 24 – had 1% of probable voters saying that they would vote for a third party. Nine percent of the respondents were undecided.

Protection of social security and health insurance remains a major concern among voters in New Jersey, 30% citing it within the framework of the wider accessibility crisis by gripping the state. Only 36% of respondents said they support “Big and Beautiful Bill” by Trump, while a majority – 51% of respondents – said they would believe that it would harm New Jersey families. In fourth place, “Stand Up to Trump” was considered the first issue of the November competition by 27% of respondents.

Trump and the Democratic Governor of New Jersey, New Jersey, Phil Murphy, received the voters from Garden State, 44% and 45% respectively. As for which is responsible for current state challenges, opinions are divided: 37% of respondents stressed state management in Trenton, 27% blamed the federal government in Washington, and 34% say that the two are at fault.
“Murphy and Trump’s figures are essentially a washing. This suggests that voters are looking for someone in whom they can trust to respond to their economic concerns, not someone who makes swings in the opposite party leaders,” said Patrick Murray, of Stimsight Research, in a press release.
The survey has shown that 54% of respondents strongly agree and 12% somewhat agree when the republican party today seems too concerned about membership in Trump.

The survey was commissioned by Insidernj, which lists the National Democratic Committee John FX Graham as a publisher.
Sherrill, a member of the US in office representing the 11th New Jersey district, took advantage of Trump’s criticism and the former chief of the Elon Musk government ministry to emerge from a field of five experienced competitors during the June primary. She is a former naval helicopter pilot and former federal prosecutor and has occupied her headquarters at home since 2019.
