Prosecutors close to the end of the case against the assassination of suspect Trump of the Ryan Routh suspect in the federal trial

Prosecutors are expected to rest their case Thursday in the federal trial of Ryan Routh – accused of having tried to assassinate President Donald Trump in his West Palm Beach golf club in 2024 – after Wednesday’s testimony, centered on a gray storage box, a long -standing letter and account “of 12 pages” of long -standing knowledge.

The prosecutors used the special agent of the FBI Garett Foo to browse the jurors through the gray box recovered in North Carolina, which contained phones, ammunition, an “improvised dismissal mechanism” and an alleged handwritten letter “Dear World” handwritten from Roth.

According to the decision of judge Aileen Cannon, the jurors were only shown the first three sentences of this letter, in particular: “It was an attempted assassination on Donald Trump … I will offer $ 150,000 to anyone who can finish work.”

ROUTH – Representing himself – had argued that the whole letter should be highlighted, but judge Cannon had only approved these first three lines. Roth argued that if the whole letter was not in evidence, includes at least three words towards the end of the letter, “shred his plane”.

Roth told Cannon that there was “nothing on a golf course” in the letter and that the jury at least needed “a context … It is a question of shredding his plane”, not assaulting him with his golf course.

“How can you withdraw three sentences on 12 pages?” asked Routh. “How right is it?” He added that the main object here was to “check the truth”.

Two former partners, the Samuel and Lazaro Plata brothers, also testified with Spanish-English performers. Samuel Plata described the search for the gray box with cartridges, pipes, four phones and a letter and said that he had alerted the police.

Lazaro told the jurors that Routh had left the box at home and said three sentences from the letter stuck in his memory: “Dear world”, “Donald Trump” and “$ 150,000”.

In a text indicated in court, Routh wrote: “Ryan Routh here. I want to give you the number of my son Oran in case I die in the next 10 or 20 years, so that you can reach it.” In return, Routh asked, “Are you angry with me?” Lazaro replied: “How do you want me to feel?” Routh: “I want you to be happy.” Cannon ended the exchange after Routh continued to try to rotate.

Prosecutors plan to finish their case and Cannon told the defense to be ready with witnesses on Friday morning. Routh said that he was planning to call an expert in firearms and witnesses of character, but it is not clear if he will testify in his own name.
