A breathtaking medieval property is located on the real estate market in England, offering pastoral life to interested buyers – but there is a socket.
The property, called St. John’s Jerusalem, was originally used by a group of warrior monks called the Knights Hospitallers. It is located in the historic village of Sutton-At-Hone in Kent.
The house dates back to the 12th century, according to the Strutt & Parker real estate agency. He worked as a preceptory, or a local / monastery seat for the knights, who fought in the crusades.

“Dating from 1199 and taking place in crowded gardens with a cottage of lodge and an old deer park, this historic house is in private in a wonderful and very private and protected setting,” said the list.
The main house was renovated at the Georgian era, still retaining a medieval charm. It has eight bedrooms, a high ceiling living room and modernized kitchen.

“It is a rare chance to acquire the opportunity to live and take care of this house.”
The entire package is sold in the range of £ 3,250,000, more than $ 4.4 million US dollars.
The capture? The property is not sold outright – and the plans require that it be given to the National Trust in less than a century.
The lease ends on September 29, 2122.

“It is among the most special houses because they are in the care of this organization which protects houses of national importance,” said Church.

The agent also noted that it was possible to extend the lease in the future.
The church has added: “The lease is a necessary article and is something that really exists only in very rare circumstances.”
Although the lease can alleviate the attraction of the list for some, the one who buys the property will walk in the steps of kings.
The ownership of 24 acres was also regularly frequented by legendary medieval leaders, notably King John and Henry III, with the first visit recorded in 1214.

“The land of the order in England, Sutton-At-Hone included, were confiscated and sold by Henri VIII in 1540.”
The property also has a “like no other” garden, completed by an idyllic ditch of a chalk stream and English Yews, by Strutt & Parker.
The current owners “respected the history of the site (and the vast archeology below), including a garden of medicinal plants which completes the history of the Hospitallers of the Knights of Saint-Jean de Jerusalem, which established the original precept on the site”, adds the list.
