Sanders approved Justin Brannan, a New York Democratic Municipal Councilor who now presents himself for the controller, saying that he would fight corruption and present himself for the working class. The website of Brannan’s campaign says that, in the music scene from which it comes, “people turn each other and pick up when they fall”.
Brannan says that he carried these values in his work as a member of the New York Municipal Council and that he will do so as a city controller.

However, an examination of the statements that Brannan made on several music lists during his years as a punk rocker in the 1990s puts a set of very different values on display, including the mocking statements of riccas, Asians, homosexual individuals and others.
On two different occasions in 1999, Brannan used the word n, writing, “yo n — represent dead and social kennedys in” signed of echoes “” and “yo, this swizz n —- is deep.”

That same year, he made fun of “Homicide: Life on the street” The actor and native of New York Yaphet Kotto, writing “Yaphet Koto? Yum. I love him with brown rice”.
The Democratic candidate has also argued several times with a member of the list of disabled people, writing articles such as “if you are really paralyzed, it’s quite funny. Guess what I did today? I got on the stairs, all around the city. What did you drool in a vision? Do you parapalegic F —.”
Brannan, as well as other city employees, were also accused of intimidating an autistic colleague during his stay as staff of the New York government. According to reports by New York PostThe staff received a court settlement of $ 850,000 paid by the city in 2021.
