The ex-fiancée of Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., filed a lawsuit this week claiming she fabricated sexual assault allegations against him as part of a scheme she allegedly fabricated with a friend’s ex-wife, according to reports.
Patrick Bryant’s lawsuit filed Thursday claims allegations made against him in a May trial by a “Jane Doe” were false, according to at WCSC. The outlet reported that the original lawsuit claimed Doe was assaulted in 2018 at Eric Bowman’s home by another man and that he and Bryant filmed it — an alleged incident Mace referenced during a speech at the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., earlier this year.
In the new lawsuit, Bryant alleges that he is the only victim and that Mace worked with Bowman’s ex-wife to make up for the assault involving Doe, who previously worked for Bryant, WCSC reported.
Bryant further claimed that Doe filed a lawsuit in May based on Mace’s false allegations, noting that the Republican lawmaker believed Bryant was cheating during their relationship and attempted to hack her phone, according to WCSC. The two separated in November 2023.

Bryant alleges that Mace and Bowman’s ex-wife – who is a mutual acquaintance of the couple – worked to convince Jane Doe that they had found a video of her being “gang raped” on Bryant’s phone, the New York Post reported.
Although the alleged victim claimed she didn’t remember what she was talking about and had no recollection of the incident, Mace insisted she had proof, according to the newspaper citing the lawsuit.
“What Mace did not tell Doe was that she concocted an entire false narrative of assault, to blackmail Bryant, gain leverage in their separation proceedings and try to ruin Bryant for her personal gain,” the lawsuit allegedly said.

Bryant is now suing for defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress, according to the Post.
“I will be releasing evidence on Monday proving that alleged predator and rapist Patrick Bryant, in my speech, is once again lying to the court in his frivolous complaint. I just had him sanctioned last week for weaponizing the court against me and rape victim Jane Doe. I intend to do so again in this case after we decide to dismiss,” Mace wrote on on Friday morning.
“It’s disgusting that a man who abused women for years is suing his victims. It’s disgusting. Offensive. Very strange behavior. And I’m concerned for the women who have come forward and for their safety. Who in their right mind does this?” she added.
Contacted by Fox News Digital, Mace’s office said in a statement attributed to the lawmaker: “It’s almost like Patrick Bryant is trying to write me another check. I just had him sanctioned by the court. And rape victim Jane Doe and I are still waiting for him to pay our legal fees after he used the court as a weapon against us.”

In a publish on his Facebook page, Bryant wrote: “I have never assaulted or raped any woman.”
“For almost two years, I had to remain silent while completely false accusations were circulated about me. Claims that were created, repeated and weaponized to serve personal and political vendettas,” he said. “I know exactly what’s coming next. They’re going to somehow concoct new lies or exaggerations for the headlines. To me, it’s not about headlines or political attention, it’s about the truth. So my question is simple and fair: Where is the evidence?”

“Mace continues to portray herself as a victim, even though she is one of the people who started these allegations and helped push them forward. She is now trying to hide behind the privileges of her position, but this has nothing to do with the government. This is a completely personal attack,” Bryant added. “This counteraction is intended to protect innocent people from destruction through false accusations. I will remain focused on clearing my name and defending the innocent people I care about.”
