Obama warns Trump administration policies putting American freedoms in danger

Former President Barack Obama warned against “dangerous tendencies” emerging from the Trump administration, saying that his policies “put the freedoms of all the Americans in danger”.
On X, Obama quoted an interview with Ezra Klein of the New York Times and journalist on “The Ezra Klein Show”, during which they discussed the threat of President Donald Trump to send national guard troops to New York and Chicago, the hometown of the former president.
“This interview, which is also available as a podcast, provides a useful overview of some of the dangerous trends that we have seen in recent months concerning the federalization and militarization of state and local police functions,” wrote Obama on X.

“The erosion of basic principles such as the regular procedure and the growing use of our soldiers on domestic soil have put the freedoms of all Americans in danger and should concern Democrats and Republicans,” he added.
