A characteristic of this latest tension is a symptom that some people call “the throat of the razor blade”.

The variant – informally “nimbus” – represented approximately 37% of cases in the United States during a period of two weeks ending on June 7, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said.

Nimbus seems to be more easily transmitted, but not more virulent.

This generally does not make people more sick than other variants, Fox News’ main analyst, Dr. Marc Siegel told Fox News Digital.

Kenneth Perry, MD, an emergency doctor in South Carolina, agreed that the predominant symptoms of each cocovated strain have changed and transformed.

“With some variants, fever and body pain was more important, where other strains had almost no symptoms,” he told Fox News Digital. “With the new variant, it seems that sore throat is once again a leading symptom.”

“Nothing helped. It was absolutely excruciating.”

The sore throat is caused by direct throat cells, causing irritation, according to Perry.

There was a recent peak in the research of “Covid throat razor” and other similar sentences, according to Google Trends.

Other causes

An intense sore throat does not necessarily mean that the cocvid is to be blamed, nor an entirely new symptom.

Pharyngitis – The term medical for a sore throat – can have a variety of causes. Bacterial infections, allergies and acid reflux can all contribute to the pain of the throat, according to experts.

“Pharyngitis, or sore throat, is a common discovery with many viral infections,” Perry at Fox News Digital. “Although about 20% of sore throats are caused by certain bacteria, most are caused by viruses such as COVVID.”

The treatment of throat pain will depend on the cause, which is why it is important to consult a health professional for a medical diagnosis, doctors agree.

Treatment of pharyngitis is generally a mixture of conventional remedies and drugs, according to Perry.

“Honey is the treatment of choice for throat ailments and cough,” he told Fox News Digital. “Anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen or naproxene are also useful for improving symptoms.”

Bacterial infections may require antibiotics, while the treatment of acid reflux could be as simple as over -the -counter antacid.

“Patients may find it difficult to follow hydration or even trouble taking medication to help their symptoms due to the pain in their throat, which can make them dehydrate,” warned Perry.

“Gargard a mixture which is ½ teaspoon of salt per 1 cup of water can facilitate inflammation and irritation in your throat,” according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Siegel added that sucking pastilles, gargling, hydrated living room and numbness of the throat can all help soothe symptoms.
