California governor Gavin Newsom said on Sunday that he will continue the Trump administration for the deployment of 300 staff from the California National Guard in Oregon.
“We are continuing Donald Trump. His deployment of the California National Guard in Oregon is not a matter of crime. It is a power. He uses our soldiers as political pawns to build his own ego,” wrote Newsom in an article on X. “It is appalling. It is not American. And that must stop,” he added.
This decision comes one day after a federal judge blocked President Donald Trump’s attempt to deploy Troops from the Oregon National Guard in Portland.

“This is a breathless abuse of the law and power. The Trump administration shamelessly attacks the rule of law itself and implements their dangerous words-ignoring the judicial orders and dealing with judges, even those appointed by the president himself, as political opponents.”
