California Governor Gavin Newsom said he was ready to fight “fire” while state republican legislators are trying to promulgate Rediscuss in Texas, opposing this decision, but promising to continue similar measures if necessary.
At a press conference on Monday, Newsom said he was supporting the independent redistribution, as well as a national framework, and an advanced proposal in the Legislative Assembly strengthens what he supports.
“The proposal we are advancing with the Legislative Assembly has a trigger only if they advance, to dismantle the protocols which are well established,” said the governor. “Will the state of California move forward in nature? The fights? Yes, fire with fire.”
Asked about a meeting between the Democrats of California on Sunday evening, during which they wrote or almost finished with the project of redistribution cards, and if he had seen these cards, Newsom said that he had not done so.

But he said that there had been a series of conversations in progress in the evening last night, which continued on Monday morning and will continue until the Democrats land on a process.
“This process must have the occurrence, the support of two thirds of the Legislative Assembly,” he said. “The cards, we think, should be transparent. They should be provided transparently to the public and, therefore, these cards are processed and will be highlighted.”
In the end, however, Newsom said that residents of California will have the ultimate forgiveness.
“We will offer them the opportunity to make judgments, once again, only if Texas is advancing,” said Newsom. “I will strengthen that we think it should be a national model, an independent national redistribution, and it would be its original form, but this is done in response to the existential realities we are now confronted. Things have changed, the facts have changed, so we have to change.”

“They triggered this answer and we are not going to drive and we will fight fire with fire, but we will do it not only with the weight of the fourth economy, the most populous state of our union, the size of 21 combined state populations,” he continued. “We will also strike over our weight in terms of impact of what we do, and I think that should be absorbed by those of the Texas delegation. Everything they will do will be neutral here in the state of California, and they will pay this price.”
California Gop president Corrin Rankin told Fox News Digital that Newsom’s actions could threaten the constitutional rights of Californians while creating a dangerous precedent.
“While Governor Newsom supervises this redistribution as a defensive decision, this undermines the California -respected citizen redistribution commission, and if it succeeds, it establishes a dangerous precedent that voters’ choices can be rejected each time that politicians find it politically practical,” said Rankin. “Our main concern is to protect the constitutional rights of Californians against partisan manipulation disguised as defense of democracy; true democracy means empowering voters, not politicians, to decide on representation.”
Dozens of Democrats in Texas fled their condition and went to Chicago and New York on Sunday evening in order to block a re -cutting vote on Monday.

Texas governor Greg Abbott has since threatened to stop and expel legislators if they are not coming back on Monday afternoon.
Shortly after Abbott published his declaration, the Texas House Democratic Caucus published a simple answer, writing: “Come and take it”.
The press release also described the districts offered by the Republicans, which would potentially ensure five new US House GOP seats in the mid-term elections next year, as a “racist redistribution program of the decade”.
Abbott criticized the dramatic departure of the Democrats, saying that “real Texans do not flee a fight”.
On Monday evening, Illinois legislators welcomed Texas Democrats for a press conference, during which none of the legislators took a single question from the press.

However, representative Robin Kelly, D-ill., Welcomed his colleagues and said that they could stay as long as they wanted it because they believed in that they were doing.
“What you do and what they are trying to do in Texas assigns you guys, but that affects the whole country,” she said. “When you want to remove five democrats … it hurts us.”
She explained that when there are not enough democrats, things like Big Beautiful Bill, or as she called “the Big Ugly Bill” and other republican initiatives.
“They try to destroy our democracy, to destroy equity in our country,” said Kelly. “And unfortunately, they start with Texas. But we want you to know, we hold by your side.”
Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi, d-ill., Accused Abbott of not intensifying people affected by devastating floods in the Hill Country region in Texas.

More specifically, he accused Abbott of not having had a special session to help families rebuild, but instead of making President Donald Trump’s “auction” of “banking the Democrats” of the Federal Delegation.
Krishnamoorthhi then directed his comments to Abbott, saying: “Don’t joke with Texas”, because people standing with him represent Texas.
“You can silence them. You can dirty them. You can sow them with debts and fins. But you cannot intimidate them,” said Krishnamoorthhi. “You can gerrymate the hell of this card. Guess what? Two can play this game. It is true. Other states will do exactly the same thing and will neutralize what you are trying to do in Texas.”
Other legislators standing side by side in Illinois have chosen to accuse Trump’s policies of being motivated by the race.
The representative of the State of Texas, Ana-Maria Rodriguez Ramos, said that Trump’s policies harm workers’ families.
“It’s nothing less than racism,” she said. “He comes after all of us who do not look like him and his republican colleagues from the Maison du Texas.”

Representative Al Green, D-Texas, followed Rodriguez Ramos with more accusations of racism, saying that the Republicans do what Trump insisted.
“I want you to know that we did not present the racing card when this message was sent by and by the Ministry of Justice in the State of Texas, to our Attorney General,” he told. “They mentioned the racing card because they talked about racial Gerrymandering. They mentioned it, and when they mentioned it, they did it, knowing that it was a fashionable word. It was a trigger.”
“They know that it is a fashionable word to which people respond to Texas, but we will answer this word of buzz by telling them that your racism will not change democracy in the state of Texas,” Green continued. “In the United States of America, racism will meet our position for democracy. You take a stand for racism, we will defend democracy and we will win.”
Representative Julie Johnson, D-Texas, said she was delighted that states like California and New York defended themselves for the Democrats in Texas because, once this would happen in Texas, he will spread to other states.
She described the question of “national war” and “total war” in which everything is on the table.
“We come from a state of great pride, and I have never considered a Texan, as an elected member of the House of Representatives of Texas and now as a elected member of Texas in the House of Representatives of the United States, that I would see the Governor of the proud state of Texas, a knee to a criminal from New York,” added Johnson. “I never thought of seeing the day, but we are there.”
Representative Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas was also with his democratic colleagues in Illinois and accused Abbott of having spoken “a lot of noise”. She also accused the Republicans of being “weak”.
“The difference is that they expect the Democrats to be nice guys that we are,” said Crockett. “They expect us to punch and thank you. Well, I’m here to tell you not only we will rely, but we about to fight.”
However, Abbott told Fox News host on Monday, Sean Hannity, that Texas did what it was authorized to do by law.
He also accused State Democrats of doing something “un-texas” by turning his back on the Texans and not facing the flood problems that echoes through the state.
Abbott said that four of the five seats that could change due to the redistribution will be mainly Hispanic.
“These are seats where Democrats must adapt to reality,” he said, explaining that Democrats lose votes against Hispanics and Black Voters in Texas.

He also said that the Democrats “filled” because they realize the power to repeat in Texas.
“Texas will continue to fight for what is good,” said Abbott.
