New York town hall candidate Mamdani tried to cancel Charlie Kirk’s event in 2023

The candidate for the socialist town hall of New York, Zohran Mamdani, once signed a letter labeling the conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated last week, as a “extremist” while calling a place to block his ability to speak in New York.

“We cannot ignore that my colleagues, the member of the assembly Zohran Mamdani and his radical DSA allies, tried to silence Charlie Kirk in New York, putting pressure on the premises to cancel his events,” said Bluncranz.
“This state of mind of censorship and public shame fuels the hostile climate that we see today and corrodes the American ideal that discourse must be encountered with more speeches, no suppression.”
Kirk’s death sparked a storm of political debate on freedom of expression in the United States and Bluncranz told Fox News Digital that he believed that Mamdani, who holds a dominant survey in the race like the next mayor of New York, was hypocritical about the word.

Fox News Digital contacted the Mamdani campaign to comment.
Mamdani publicly approached the assassination of Kirk, telling a group of supporters that the shooting was “horrible” and “yet another victim of armed violence in a nation where what should be a rarity has turned into a plague”.
In an article on X, Mamdani said he was “horrified” and said that “political violence had no place in our country”.
