New York candidate Zohran Mamdani denies the communist label despite the ideology

The candidate for the socialist town hall of New York, Zohran Mamdani, insisted on the fact that he is not a “communist” when asked by journalists despite a story of promoting the communist ideology which has very much prompted this label to him.
“No, I am a democratic socialist,” Mamdani told CNN earlier this week when he was asked if he was a communist, a label which was granted to him by many criticisms, including President Donald Trump.
“I said that time.”
Despite its multiple refusals of the Communist label, a Fox News Digital review has found several examples of Mamdani pleading and supporting communist principles, in particular by calling for the seizure of “means of production”.

“At the moment, if we are talking about the cancellation of students’ debt, if we are talking about Medicare for all, you know, these are problems that have the wave of popular support through this country,” Mamdani told a socialist democratic conference of America in 2021.
“But there are also other problems that we believe firmly, whether it is BDS or whether it is the final objective of seizing the means of production, where we do not have the same level of support at the same time.”
The expression “seizing the means of production” returns to Karl Marx in 1848 “the Communist Manifesto” in which he promotes the idea that workers take control of the factories of private owners.

The Mamdani platform also includes a progressive tax plan aimed at “taxing the richest New Yorkers” which is its recent complaint that it does not believe that billionaires should exist.
Communist sympathies can also be found in the interior circle of Mamdani based on reports earlier this year that part of the “Brain Trust” of his campaign includes CEA Weaver, an housing activist with close links with communist organizations.
Weaver is the former director of housing coalitions for all, a group that has dozens of far-left radical groups as members of the coalition, including the Communist Party of the United States of America and the New York Young Communist League.
“Make more communists”, Weaver posted on social networks in 2017, New York Post reported. “Enter private property,” said Weaver in 2018.
Confronted with Fox News Digital in July to find out if he is a communist and he intends to resume one of his history of declarations aligned by the Communists to obtain the approval of the leader of the Hakeem Jeffries House, Mamdani did not respond.
