New Gaza Foundation under fire because it exposes the failures of the aid networks supported by the UN

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), with the support of the United States and Israel, has distributed some 70 million meals in the Gazans since May. But its aid distribution system was under coherent attack by Hamas and certain improbable districts – the main aid groups in the world.

Earlier this month, the United Nations Commissioner of the Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, called for the “end of the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) because it only provides famine and shots to the inhabitants of Gaza”. He continued to call him an “abomination”.

His statement noted that 230 NGOs, including Amnesty International, Oxfam International, Norwegian Refugee Council and save children, signed their names to an open letter criticizing the GHF while urging a return to the non -directed aid distribution model.

Critics say that UNRWA’s ties with Hamas have put its existence even in danger, in particular given the success of the GHF operation.

Gerald Steinberg, the founder and president of the NGO Monitor, told Fox News Digital that these groups include “anti-Israeli superpowers” with “massive public relations budgets and devoted staff and are able to largely promote their attacks on GHF”.

Steinberg said GHF has already demonstrated that “Gaza aid can be provided without relying on the former aid industry for corrupt dollars led by United Nations agencies like UNRWA and NGOs that are allied in Hamas”.

Steinberg said that the number of signatories to the letter had increased to more than 230 while the “powerful NGO network Riposte and made false accusations in a total political effort to force Israel and other donors to end the GHF operation.”

The acting executive director of GHF, John Acree, said that he had no enmity for the signatories of the NGO of the letter.

“They write papers and letters and sign documents, and yet we do it,” said Acree. He implored the groups of “please come. Come and help us”.

Acree says GHF has contacted other “daily” help groups to request support. In some cases, humanitarian workers have taken discussions that “we hope that we will finally lead to partnerships and implementation”.

Since May, the GHF has faced many criticisms on its operations, including accusations that the Gazans were killed and injured on distribution sites.

In response to Fox News Digital Questions on Lazzarini’s remarks, a UNRWA spokesperson stressed that “UNRWA, like the rest of the UN, has repeatedly condemned the current aid distribution system to Gaza”, which, according to him, “costs more life than it saves”.

UNRWA allegedly alleged that “800 hungry people have been reported since this program began to operate on May 28”, adding that “instead of” the distribution of ordered food “, this system brings dehumanization, chaos and death”.

Lazzarini continued to condemn the help mechanism supported by the United States, saying that “a functional system has been replaced by a fatal scam to force the movement of people + deepening the collective punishment of Palestinians in Gaza”.

GHF published a statement on Friday when the War of Words continued.

Acree said the GHF evolves. The organization “did not expect despair” which he met.

“The Gazans told us that it was the first time that they have received free help or food, and they had to pay for it until now,” he said. To counter this despair, Acree said that the GHF “is now taking steps to help exploit this tension and help them understand that we are here to help and relieve this hunger.”

He said that the group still needed “more help. We still need much more help”, which includes partnerships with the UN and NGOs.
