Earlier this month, after the Pentagon published a break on a previously promised defensive aid provided for kyiv, reports surfaced by suggesting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had started to seek new ways of acquiring the weapons that his nation was desperately needed.

Thursday, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz Told Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome that Berlin was “ready to buy additional patriotic systems in the United States to make them available to Ukraine”.

Trump told journalists this week that he had not approved Pentagon help, which had apparently been done on concerns in stock, and defensive weapons would have resumed the transfer to Ukraine.

Trump has increasingly expressed his frustration towards Russian President Vladimir Putin and his refusal to end his war in Ukraine while the assault of Russia continues to intensify in intensity and frequency, including in a series of night strikes which killed nine and wounded 42 others across Ukraine and struck a maternity hospital.

“Women in work with children, women after surgery. Fortunately, there were no children among the victims. Russia targets life. Even when it is just beginning,” said Zelenskyy.

No one was killed in the maternity strike.

Trump, who told NBC News that he planned to make a “major declaration” on Russia on Monday, had been questioned on Friday on the strike that targeted maternity, to which he simply said: “You will see that things happen.”
