Nascar: Bubba Wallace becomes the first black driver to win Brickyard 400

Bubba Wallace crossed the finish line first at the Brickyard 400, and he made the story of Nascar in the process.

Wallace became the first black driver to have won the Historical Oval Course of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

It was not an easy race for Wallace either, because it was fighting through a lagging behind, two hours and the main concern of lacking fuel towards the end with Kyle Larson on its tail.

However, Wallace was released, winning its first race since 2022.

“Incredible,” Wallace told his team during their radio waves after spending the checkered flag.

The star of Indycar Pato O’Ward seems on Indy 500 after 4th place.

With six laps to do, Larson had reduced his Wallace gap only three seconds when a yellow warning flag came out because of the rain. Then, an accident occurred once the pilots returned to the track, which forced a second period of extension.

Wallace’s team feared that it was not lacking in gas due to the additional tricks, but the risk was run and paid off for Wallace, which was able to survive the Larson wave.

The checkered flag was taken by Wallace by a margin of 0.222 seconds to break its sequence without a 110 -hour victory.

Larson only sought the fourth pilot to be a consecutive winner of the Brickyard. Instead, Wallace won one of Nascar’s crowned jewelry for the first time.

The victory also secures in Wallace a place in the eliminatory series of the Cup series, with four remaining events until the 16 -pilot field is locked up for the 10 2 -hour qualifying series.
